Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)

Access to safe water and proper sanitation is a fundamental human right. NARIDE works tirelessly to bridge the gap in water access and hygiene practices across communities in Eastern Uganda, partnering with global organisations like WaterAid to deliver lasting change.

  Community-based water management and education — empowering communities to manage and maintain water infrastructure.

  Citizens' empowerment for action, voice, and demand for good governance in the delivery of water services.

  Community and civil society empowerment for better understanding and engagement with safe water policies, rights, and financial regimes.

  Improving access to safe water through promotion of small-scale water harvesting initiatives and use of Bio-sand filter technologies.

  Partnership with WaterAid to construct water reservoirs in 50 schools of Mbale City.

  Construction and promotion of sustainable hygiene and sanitation facilities.

  Promotion of handwashing, latrine use, and hygienic menstrual health management in schools and households.

  Training of Water User Committees and WASH clubs in schools and communities.
