NARIDE's health programme forms the backbone of community resilience in Eastern Uganda. Through strategic partnerships with TASO Uganda, Amref Health Africa, and Cordaid Uganda, we deliver health services, education and advocacy across some of the most underserved communities in the region.
Programme Goal
To contribute to increased community awareness and health literacy on accessibility, disease prevention, and promotion of healthy lifestyles and a productive population. This addresses Reproductive Health, HIV/AIDS, Malaria Control, Nutrition, Communicable and Non-Communicable Diseases, and Pro-poor Health Policy Advocacy.

Community sensitization and empowerment on health issues (community engagement).

Facilitating interface between community members, policy makers, and health service providers.

Capacity building of partner CBOs and community groups to carry out health-related lobbying and advocacy activities.

Documentation and dissemination of community health concerns.

HIV/AIDS prevention and care — including support for Mother-to-Child Transmission (PMTCT) prevention in Mbale City.

Empowering communities on how to respond to emerging non-communicable diseases.

Promoting good health practices and healthy behaviors.

Engaging communities in good health-seeking behaviors including vaccination, immunization, and integrated outreach services.

Promoting good nutrition practices, especially among mothers and children.

Conducting Community Dialogues in Namakwekwe, Nakaloke, Namatala, Munkaga on health education and youth and women empowerment.

Supporting Result-Based Financing activities through Cordaid Uganda — creating transparent health facilities in Mbale District.
