The Parish Development Model (PDM) represents a major government investment in grassroots economic transformation. NARIDE has played a critical role in ensuring that the most vulnerable communities understand and access PDM support — turning government policy into real-world livelihood improvements for over 20,000 people.

Activity Objective

To sensitise communities across 10 districts to actively participate in and benefit from the Government of Uganda's Parish Development Model — enabling over 20,000 people to change their lives.

    Sensitisation campaigns in 10 East Uganda districts on PDM eligibility and processes.

    Mobilising community groups to access PDM funding for agricultural and business activities.

    Facilitating the formation of PDM beneficiary groups in parishes and villages.

    Linking communities with local government PDM coordinators and technical officers.

  • 5

    Training beneficiaries on financial literacy and responsible use of PDM funds.

  • 6

    Monitoring and documentation of PDM impact at community level.

  • 7

    Advocacy for equitable distribution of PDM resources including to marginalised groups.
